Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 30, 2026

Oneiros is designed as a private dream journal and symbolic reflection space. Dreams can contain sensitive personal information, so this policy explains in plain language what we process, why we process it, and what choices you have.

What we process

Journal, account, and support data

This can include dream entries, reflections, chat, account details, support messages, settings, and optional voice recordings when you choose to use them.

Why we process it

To run Oneiros

We process data to save your journal, generate reflections, support sync and security, answer requests, and keep the service reliable and lawful.

Your controls

Access, export, deletion

You can ask for access, correction, export, restriction, or deletion by emailing support@oneirosjournal.com.

1. What Oneiros is

Oneiros helps you write dreams, optionally transcribe voice recordings, receive AI-assisted symbolic reflections, review journal history, and notice recurring dream patterns. Oneiros is for journaling, wellness, and self-inquiry only. It is not therapy, diagnosis, medical care, mental health treatment, crisis support, or professional advice.

2. Information we process

Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

  • Account information such as your email address, user ID, login provider, and authentication metadata.
  • Dream journal content, titles, drafts, dates, generated reflections, chat messages, motifs, symbols, and related metadata.
  • Optional voice recordings or audio files when you choose voice journaling or transcription.
  • App settings such as onboarding state, interpretation depth, language choices, and security preferences.
  • Support requests, contact details, and operational troubleshooting information.
  • Technical metadata needed for sync, authentication, quota handling, abuse prevention, debugging, and reliability.

Because dreams can be intimate, this information may include sensitive personal information such as health, relationships, trauma, sexuality, beliefs, or identity.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide journaling, search, calendar, insights, subscriptions, storage, and sync features.
  • Generate AI-assisted reflections, follow-up replies, dream metadata, and pattern reports.
  • Transcribe voice recordings when you request transcription.
  • Authenticate your account and help secure access to the app.
  • Respond to billing, privacy, export, deletion, and support requests.
  • Prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, monitor quota and purchase flows, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your dream content, and we do not use your journal for advertising.

4. AI and voice processing

When you request an interpretation, follow-up reply, transcription, Recent Dream Field, or essay, relevant content may be sent to our server proxy and configured providers to generate the result. These providers may include OpenAI and Anthropic, depending on the feature and server configuration.

AI output is automatically generated symbolic material. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or emotionally unsuitable. Treat it as reflective material, not fact, instruction, clinical assessment, or advice.

5. Service providers

We use service providers to run Oneiros. These may include Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and server functions; OpenAI and Anthropic for AI and transcription features; and infrastructure or email providers needed for support, purchase operations, and contact workflows.

These providers process information only as needed to operate the service on our behalf.

6. Storage, retention, and security

Oneiros uses offline-first behavior, so some journal data, drafts, settings, and sync queues may be stored on your device. If you sign in and use sync, data may also be stored remotely so your journal is available across sessions and devices.

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide Oneiros, maintain your account, answer requests, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.

7. Access, sharing, and international processing

We do not routinely review your dreams. Limited access or disclosure may occur only when needed to provide support you request, operate and secure the service, investigate a serious issue, comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users and the service.

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, depending on our providers and infrastructure.

8. Your rights and choices

You can request access, correction, export, deletion, or restriction of your personal data by contacting support@oneirosjournal.com. You can also use in-app account deletion where available. Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or dispute handling.

9. Adults only and emergency boundary

Oneiros is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use Oneiros. If you may harm yourself or someone else, feel in immediate danger, or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a trusted crisis, medical, or mental health professional now. Oneiros is not crisis support.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as Oneiros changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the app or this website.

For privacy questions or requests, contact support@oneirosjournal.com.
